She was be a member of a delegation that included students supported by the Office of Science of the Department of Energy and the Oak Ridge Associated Universities in addition to NSF MPS.

Robin T. Macaluso received the Charles M. Coates Dissertation Award for 2005.

Robin T. Macaluso received the ACS Division of Inorganic Chemistry (DIC) Young Investigator and will be honored at a special half-day symposium at the ACS National Meeting in Washington, DC, August 28 - September 1, 2005.

Evan Thomas was chosen to attend the meeting of Nobel Laureates in Lindau, Germany, this summer. Evan will be a member of a delegation that will include students supported by the Office of Science of the Department of Energy and the Oak Ridge Associated Universities in addition to NSF MPS.

Julia Chan was chosen to attend the Nobel Symposium in Sweden, June 2005. Nobel Foundation has for many years been sponsoring Nobel Symposia on important topics in science, literature and peace. 150 qualified scientists around the world (name was suggested by the NSF as a scientist that would benefit from attending this symposium) have been invited to these symposia, which normally last for 4-5 days and are held in Sweden.
