After four years in Boone Co., Presley and Polly moved to Monroe Co. near Florida[,Mo] in September, 1830, where he farmed.
Later Presley lived in Florida where they conducted a store and a hotel(tavern).

Later Presley and family moved to Santa Fe, Mo. He was especially interested in horticulture, and was a nurseryman and cooper (barrel maker).

In 1828 Presley united with the Baptist Church at Rocky Fork, and was baptized by Elder Peyton Stevens.

Polly Wilkerson died in March 1879 from an overdose of laudenum, (See Additional Information section for more details).

Presley and Polly's eleven children were:

  2. Martha Jane Wilkerson born in Kentucky (September 10, 1823,-3 a.m. March 26, 1913) at 89
  3. Presley Marquis Wilkerson born in Ky. (December 14, 1825-September 20,1838)
  4. Lemuel Wilkerson born near Columbia, Mo. died near Florida, Mo. (January 14, 1828-March 11, 1843) at 15.
  5. Milton Bryant Wilkerson born in Boone Go., Mo. D. in Mexico, Mo (January 10, 1830-April 22, 1914) at 84 years, 4 months, 19 days.
  6. Mary Elizabeth Wilkerson (December 12, 1831-)
  7. Wiley Underwood Wilkerson (January 27, 1834-) Died at Palmyra, Mo. aged 21 years
  8. Delina Ann Wilkerson (April 15, 1836-) D. at 6 years
  9. Acenath America Wilkerson (September 6, 1839)
  10. Sarah Margaret Wilkerson (June 26, 1846-)
  11. Thomas Jefferson Wilkerson (April 23, 1849-)
