Presley - first male child born in Boone's Fort, Ky. (1798 -- May 16, 1868 ).
Came to Mo. near Columbia, in 1826 lived there four years. Moved to Florida - Farmed. Lived in Florida; ran a hotel and store. Then to Santa Fe. Especially interested in horticulture, nurseryman and cooper.

Columbia Missouri Statesman Friday June 19 1868 p.2-c.8 - Deaths.  Near Santa Fe, Monroe County, Mo. May 16, 1868, Presley Wilkerson, aged 69 year 7 months and 29 days. Deceased was an early settler in Missouri, in 1826 he moved from  Clark county, Ky. to Boone county, Mo.  In 1828 he united with the Babtist[sic] AChurch at Rockey Fork, and was baptized[sic] by Elder Peyton Stevens, In 18-- he removed to the eastern part of monroe County.

   The spastic girl was taken everywhere in a black carriage with fringe on the    top.

John Williamson Haines Born near Xenia, Greene Co. Ohio ( March 6, 1826 -- )
 Motherless at age of 9 yrs, apprenticed shoemaker - became 1st class journeyman attended Baptist Seminary, at Palmyra. Mo. when not in school teaching, met Mary Elizabeth Wilkerson, who, with her brother attended the Seminary.  (Wiley U. Wilkerson was preparing for the Ministry.

Married Miss W. lived in Santa Fe, followed his trade, continued studies, became proficient in languages. Latin, german, mastered Hebrew and Greek, not physically fit to be a soldier.

Lived in Bowling Green. Mo. Pastor 1st Baptist Church principle of school, Colombia for some years.

Member Florida #23. Masonic Lodge  1858 - 59 - 1865 - 66 - 67 - 1869 - Dentist.

Samuel, came from Cork. Ireland, settled in Tenn. Came to Missouri 1852 - died and buried, Shelbyville. Mo Blacksmith

Robert Henry, at the time working as Blacksmith in California, ready to go to Australia. McCormick Binders, returned home, and supported his mother, by his trade at Santa Fe. Mo.

Funeral services for the late Henry Wright, who died in Independence, Mo., Monday afternoon after an extended illness of almost two years, will be conducted from the J. R. Towson home, 933 West Boulevard, at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.

Mr. Wright who was about 69 years of age at his death was a well known machinist, and grew to manhood in the Santa Fe neighborhood, where he was the son of James and Margaret Wright, Missouri pioneers.

About 41 years ago, Miss Sallie Wilkerson, the daughter of M. B. and Amanda Wilkerson, also of Santa Fe, became his bride, and his devoted wife survives him. She is a sister of Mrs. J. R. Towson of Mexico.

Mr. Wright is also survived by 3 sons, Robert Wright. Independence,
Mo., Roy Wright, Kirkwood, Mo., Charles Wright, Atchinson, Kan., by four daughters, Mrs. Fred Mundy, Mexico; Mrs. Walter Johnson, Modena, Wis., Mrs. Roy Howerton. Omaha, Neb., and Miss Henrietta Wright, Independence, with whom he had made his home since the past September.

One brother, Frank Wright, Monroe City, and a sister, Mrs. Neal Enzer, Monroe City, and several grandchildren, also survive him.

Mr. Wright was an upright citizen, and devout Christian, belonging to the Santa Fe Christian Church and to the Masonic order.

The services will be conducted by the Rev. J. A. Riney, Baptist minister, and a former schoolmate and lifelong friend of the departed man.

The remains were bought here by lmotor Tuesday afternoon, and were taken to the Towson home on the Boulevard, where they will remain until the services.

The ledger joins the many friends of this well known former resident in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.

WRIGHT FUNERAL TO BE HERE WEDNESDAY
Funeral services for Henry Wright, former Mexico resident. who died Monday in Independence, will be held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the home of James Towson on the Boulevard. The body accompanied by relatives arrived here from Independence Tuesday. The Masonic Lodge of which Mr. Wright was a member will be in charge of the services.

SERVICES FOR HENRY WRIGHT HELD HERE ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON
 Funeral services for the late Henry Wright, formerly of this city, were conducted from the home of Mrs. Wright's sister, Mrs. J. R. Towson, and Mr. Towson, on West Boulevard. Rev. J. A. Riney, a former school friend, conducted the services, with the Masonic order in charge of the committal service.
 The pallbearers: Frank Towles, I. N. Bailey, Ellis Davis, Allan Coatsworth, C. C. Heizer and Morem Beagles. All of the children except Mrs. Marguerite Johnson of Modena, Wis, were here for the services, including Robert Wright, Independence, Mo., Roy Wright, Kirkwood, Missoui[??], Charles Wright, Atchison, Kansas, Henrietta Wright, Independence; Mrs Roy Howerton, Omaha, Neb, Mrs. Fred Mundy lives in Mexico.

Funeral services for Henry Wright,
formerly of this city, who died in Independence Monday, were held at 2:30
o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the home of J. R. Towson at 933 West Boulevard, this city.
 The services were in charge of the Reverend J. A. Riney of Mexico, a Baptist minister, and burial was made in Elmwood Cemetery. The pallbearers: I. N. Bailey, Ellis Davis, Frank Towles, Allan Coatsworth, Charles Heizer and J. W. Beagles. Music included selections by a quartette composed of Dr. Fred Griffin, Mrs. Ray Worley, Mrs Ray Pitts and Roy Barkley.
 Among those who were here from out of town for the funeral were Mrs. Roy Howerton of Omaha, Neb., Mr. and Mrs. Charles O. Wright of Atchinson,     Kan., Mr. and Mrs. Robert R. Wright and daughter Sarah Frances. Mrs. Henry Wright and Miss Henriette Wright of Independence, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Wright of Kirkwood, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wright and Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Ensor of Monroe City.

Presley Wilkerson - first white child born in Boone's Fort Kentucky.

Son of William Wilkerson who had been captured by the indians and lived with them 12(?) years before he escaped.

Name probably was William Wilkinson but owing to his sojurn with the savages he wrote it Wilkerson.

William wrote a history of his family and his Indian experience.

Presley, his son had the same [written account] and Milton B. son of Presley brought same to date and took it to Paris Monroe county to be Printed by Abernathy? Ms. supposed to have been lost by fire.
