Adobe has
an agreement which gives "greatly reduced rates" to LSU Faculty
and Staff on certain Adobe products, but you must still buy a
license to use it. If you buy just a license, you do not get a CD (media).
Media may be borrowed or bought separately.
Pick out the
product(s) you want and order
license(s)
from the approved vendor*. After you have the license(s), you
can order a copy of the media [CD(s)] or borrow a copy.
For
the license purchase options, one should take the following
steps:
1) you must be eligible to buy, you MUST be staff or faculty to
buy under this plan.
2) get a purchase order number or use your Lacart card.
3) contact an (approved) vendor of choice and order the
license(s).
The licenses
are kept on a secured website which is maintained by Darcy
Waguespack in LSU's Computing Service office. Once the licenses are added to the site she emails the end-user. Also,
once you receive your install media for whatever product purchased
you need to email Darcy for the serial code to install. All CD's ship without
serial codes and Darcy maintains all the codes for the contract.
For some products,
once you have evidence of license in hand, we can lend you a CD.

consider the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Standard, which retails
for $1,250 and sells for $205.60.

*LSU currently participates in the
Adobe CLP program. This program offers greatly reduced pricing on a
large portion of Adobe products. Only faculty and staff are eligible
to participate in the Adobe CLP program. Purchases for this program
are made through a selected educational reseller. LSU's reseller has
recently changed from JourneyEd to CDWG. The contact information for
